Typical Doherty, turns up late and doesn't wheel out the hits

Pete Doherty Plays To The Tune Of £15,000

Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty was paid £15,000 by an American businessman for a private concert at the singer's Wiltshire home at the weekend (February 16).

Computer games tycoon Greg Thomas and his wife Cynthia flew in from California just to be entertained by Doherty.

In typical Doherty fashion, the gig started seven hours late at 4am instead of the scheduled 9pm. The couple were then treated to an hour long acoustic gig in Doherty's rented Marlborough home before leaving late on Saturday (February 16) afternoon.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Doherty said: "The gig went really well. It was really nice. I got to try out lots of new material.

"These people were real aficionados. They certainly know their stuff. Everything I played went down really well, from old songs all the way through to my new stuff which no one's heard.

"They were a really nice couple as well. They've got three children and it was just nice all round, all for a bit of pocket money."
