Glastonbury Headliners Latest

Emily Eavis remains tight-lipped on who'll be playing, but tells us who won't be turning up...

It may seem a tad premature, but Glastonbury gossip is already underway. With only just over a week to go until tickets go on sale on Sunday, October 5, speculation has been rife. "We are completely fired up about next year at the moment," Emily Eavis told the BBC. ""We are completely fired up about next year at the moment," she said, adding that they had been talking to potential headliners particularly early this time around. "Because our tickets go on sale on 5 October, we've brought it forward, so we're ensconced in chat about next year and there's a lot of good feeling after such an amazing festival in 2008."

While Eavis Jr explained that Franz Ferdinand and The Ting Tings would definitely be on the bill for 2009 after playing the Glastonbury Equinox Party last week, she was tight-lipped about who would be headlining - although she revealed who *wouldn't* be turning up. "It's not Coldplay, it's not U2 and it's not The Rolling Stones. We're talking to a few people at the moment and I think pretty soon we'll have some stuff sorted."

But do't get your hopes up, rap fans - it's unlikey that there'll be another headliner of the Jay-Z type next year. "We can't repeat that can we?" pondered Emily. "That was amazing. Unfortunately you can only do something like that once."
